Health & Safety
Please read before using the app to guide your training.
GymAnna is a logbook, not a coach and not a medical device. It records what you tell it. It does not assess your technique, judge whether a weight is safe for you, or know anything about your health.
Before you start
Speak to a qualified professional — a doctor, physiotherapist or accredited trainer — before beginning or substantially changing an exercise programme. This matters especially if you have an injury or medical condition, are pregnant, are returning after a long break, or are new to resistance training.
While you train
- Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, shortness of breath or anything unusual, and seek medical help.
- Use a load you can control through the full range of movement. A number in the app is a record, not a target you owe anyone.
- Progress gradually. Seeing a chart climb is not a reason to add weight before you're ready.
- Use a spotter or safety pins for anything you could get trapped under.
About the technique links
Videos you save against an exercise are chosen by you, from YouTube. We do not select, review, endorse or host them. A video is general information and cannot account for your body, your history or your equipment. Coaching notes shown in the app are short general reminders — nothing more.
About the numbers
Volume, personal bests and trends are arithmetic on what you entered. The app deliberately declines to calculate figures where the meaning of a weight is unknown, precisely so it doesn't present a confident number that happens to be wrong. Treat all of it as a record of your training, not as a prescription for it.
If an exercise causes pain, dizziness or unusual discomfort, stop and seek qualified guidance. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
